July 17 Billy Graham's PrayerSubject: Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation Date: Thu, 12 Jun 2008 02:24:41
A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO THIS COUNTRY! PAUL HARVEY'S ON- AIR PRAYER 'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have rid iculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'
July 15 Psalm 23 - - EXPLAINED
Psalm 23 - - EXPLAINED
The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness. For His name sake Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil. For Thou art with me Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me, Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies. June 18 A Stranger Moves InHere's a story my parents sent me. See if this describes your home!
The Stranger This is very interesting and not ending the way I had expected! A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small Texas town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on. As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the stranger...he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind. Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly, while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now, if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.) Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home... Not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush. My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing. I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave. More than fifty years have passed, since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first. Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures. His name?.... . . . We just call him "TV." (Note: This should be required reading for every household in America !)
He has a wife now....We call her "Computer". We have revamped our Christian Webstore and have changed our name. June 02 ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVEENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE
I've learned ... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
May 01 Be BlessedThis another e-mail I received from a friend of mine in California. Man is it GOOD!
"Just wanted to tell everyone that I am so grateful to have each of you in my life. I pray you all have a blessed day. May everyone who received this message be blessed of God." There is nothing attached. Just send this to people that you want to bless. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing in your heart God will answer. Prayer May God meet all of your needs according to the riches and glory that are May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding guard your heart May the power and presence of the Holy Spirit come upon you as you seek God’s face with your whole heart. May the LORD strengthen you with power through His Holy Spirit in the inner man. May the LORD open the eyes of your heart and enlighten the eyes of your understanding. May His Holy Spirit lead you into all truth, and teach you the deep things of God. May God’s love manifest itself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joy be full, for the joy of the LORD is our strength. May your thoughts and dreams be inspired by the Holy Spirit, and may God give you vision for His purposes for your life. May you delight in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. May His love be perfected in you, for perfect love casts out fear. Jesus Christ is our Great and High Priest. He is the author and finisher of our faith. I pray that your faith enters a new height for you; I pray that every hindrance would be taken out of the way. I pray that your heart would be enlarged and your territory expanded. I pray that the hearts of His children would be sow together in unity by His Spirit. That we would be one, just as Jesus and the Father are one. I pray for His blessings upon you, your families, and those who are close to your heart.
